Man reports drive-by BB gun shooting on bridge

A man who complained about being shot by a pellet gun while driving over the Mid-Bay Bridge refused medical treatment. An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy did collect the BB, which was laying in the front seat of his vehicle, to be placed into evidence, according to the incident report.

The May 6 incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. The victim told the deputy he was driving northbound on the bridge with his windows down when he heard a “pop” sound. At first, he thought something may have fallen off his vehicle. Then he felt a “slight stinging” to his chest.

After exploring the area with his hand, he discovered a small amount of blood. When he got home, he looked in the bathroom mirror and noticed a small injury. He was able to describe a vehicle to the deputy.

The case will be forwarded to investigations.
