Husband locks himself in bedroom, wife enters with butter knife

DESTIN – A 25-year-old man was charged with domestic battery after he locked himself in his bedroom, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Around 4 p.m. March 9, the man and his wife, who live together and have a 16-month-old daughter, got into an argument at their home in the 200 block of Mattie Kelly Boulevard, the report said. The husband locked himself in the bedroom and attempted to remove some of his wife’s personal belongings.

The woman forced her way in the bedroom with a butter knife, and the husband stood in the doorway to block her way, the report said. He picked her up by the arms and “placed her in the hallway,” and the wife walked out.

The husband was charged with domestic battery and is due in court April 6.
