Lot of spice on the docks Monday afternoon

Fish Flash

Mama always said “variety is the spice of life.”
If that’s true — and we know mama’s don’t lie —  then there was a lot of spice on the docks Monday afternoon.
The boats brought in everything from Warsaw to king mackerel and most everything in between.
Capt. Mike Parker on the Silver King and his group hauled in a small Warsaw, several red snapper and triggerfish. One of the triggerfish was 6-pounds plus.
Anglers on the Shamrock with Capt. Eddie Dykes filled the racks with a limit of red snapper, one king mackerel and grouper.
Chattanooga anglers on the Sea Winder with Capt. Stan Phillips landed a cobia, an amberjack, three grouper and their limit of red snapper.
The Backlash, also filled with Tennessee anglers, hauled in some nice grouper, a huge red snapper and more, and one barracuda. Jason Mikel is captain of the Backlash.
It was all red aboard the Un Reel with Capt. Harold Loeffler. His group of anglers reeled in their limit of red snapper.
The party boat Destin Princess came in with several stringers loaded with red snapper, white snapper, mingo and triggerfish.
Capt. Steve Haeusler on the First Light and his guys hauled in four gag grouper, a scamp, a small Warsaw and some fat red snapper.
The Mother Lode with Capt. Jason Hallmark at the helm brought in the mother lode of all catches. They had 15 grouper, a yellowfin grouper, a dozen scamp, three snowy grouper and their limit of red snapper.
With mother’s day just around the corner, don’t forget mama’s also like to fish. And I’m sure she would like to get in on some of the spices other than what she sprinkles over dinner.
See you at the docks.
