Reba Rice
Reba Rice, 77, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away March 9, 2010, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Reba was born March 13, 1932, in Dayton, Tenn., the daughter of the late Floyd Suttles and Verna Massengale Suttles.
Reba was a retired cosmetologist. She attended Cinco Bayou Baptist Church and was a member of Women of the Moose. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was extremely talented at many types of crafts, making many cherished items for her family and friends.
Reba and Bill were married on Aug. 23, 1953, and spent 57 inseparable years together. Their love for each other and the many happy times together will always be cherished by Bill. He will miss her deeply. Her daughters, Becky and Kay, loved their mother deeply and not a day will go by without thinking of her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Joyce Wymer; and one brother, Leon Suttles.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Walter W. “Bill” Rice of Fort Walton Beach; two daughters, Becky E. Kirk and her husband, Billy, of Fort Walton Beach, and Kay Robertson and her husband, Brad, of Fort Walton Beach; six grandchildren, Melissa Fuller and her husband, Charlie, of Niceville, Fla., Bryan Kirk of Crestview, Fla., Jamie Robertson of Destin, Fla., Lindsey Brown and her husband, Barri, of Fort Walton Beach, Shaun Robertson of Fort Walton Beach, and Bradley Robertson of Fort Walton Beach; eight great-grandchildren; stepmother, Betty Suttles of Dayton, Tenn.; one brother, Bobby Suttles of Mossy Head, Fla.; three sisters, Lena Dunlap of Dayton, Tenn., Vivian Burnett and her husband, Bill, of Dayton, Tenn., and Margaret Frizzell and her husband, Gene, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. March 12 in the chapel of Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach. Burial will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. March 11 in the chapel of Emerald Coast Funeral Home.
