Richard Byron Kinsell
Richard Byron Kinsell, 83, died Aug. 13, 2010, at Crystal Bay Senior Living Center in Destin.
Richard was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Benton County, Ind., to the late Homer and Opal (Atkinson) Kinsell. After graduating from Pine Township High School, he farmed for more than 10 years. He continued his education at Purdue University where he earned his PHARD in pharmacy in 1968, was president of his senior class and graduated with distinction. The following year he was president of Tippecanoe County Pharmaceutical Association and later retired as pharmacist for the School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue.
Richard was married to Anne Seagroatt on Aug. 11, 1951, at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Lafayette, Ind., and had just celebrated their 59th anniversary before his death. He achieved the rank of SSGT in the Marine Corps. Richard enjoyed lapidary work, rifle construction, gardening and especially loved music.
Surviving with his wife, Anne, are three daughters, Kandice Cherry of Niceville, Theresa Goddard of Greer, S.C., and Kimberly Turnbull of Indianola, Iowa.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frederic and sister Irma (Kinsell) Nichols.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Niceville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made to the Purdue University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences for Parkinson’s research.
There will be a time of visitation prior to the service from 10 a.m. until service time.
The Twin Cities Cremation Services & Funeral Home of Niceville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
