18-year-olds arrested for spring break sex

DESTIN - Teens drank alcohol and had sex here over spring break, lawmen say. Two from Indiana face felony charges for it.

Ryan P. King, 18, of Greenville, Ind., and Scott Anthony Maggard, also 18, of Floyd's Knob, Ind., each had sex with younger girls, lawmen say. The men each are charged with lewd and lascivious battery, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

A 15-year-old girl told authorities she and another girl met King and Maggard at the Track in Destin on March 26, then went back to a room at the Hampton Inn and took several vodka shots.

One girl said she couldn't remember anything after that, but could tell that she'd had sex after noticing something the next morning. The other said she became intoxicated and had sex, too.

King told investigators in April that the sex did occur but that she had initiated the kissing and taken off her own clothes, according to his arrest report. Maggard said the girls each claimed to be 16.

Every Friday night I think about how much more this beach town can take. The number of kids using alcohol and drugs has gone up before our eyes and people need to start looking at the truth of getting these people some help.

I'm sure the guys were at fault but the girls need to take responsibility too. I have a teenage son and girls are constantly throwing themselves at him. Some girls are soliciting sex these days just like the boys. Alot of teenage girls in this generation are very bold.

The boys are to blame for sure but it sounds like the girls were no angels themselves. AND what parents would let their 15-16 year old daughters out by themselves anyway. We vacation every summer in Destin and my daughter is 15 and there she stays with the family and doesn't go out roaming around by herself.

With all the drugs that are on the beach now, I can't believe it was just alcohol. Those girls were lucky.

The parents seem to turn their head when its spring break season. My 15 year old got asked to a party with no parental supervision and if I hadn't gone in, much to her horror, after I dropped her off to give her her cell phone, I wouldn't have seen the scene! A rental beach house, not a parent in sight, but it was a mix of 14-22 year olds. They had a great food spread and the music was civil. But Guess who got to leave right away with me? Yep, mean Mom to the rescue. I didn't want to think of what it could turn into later. Parents need to wake up! That one showed me even really good kids have really BAD ideas!

Yeah, there too young, but where are the parents? What are they doing letting those young girls that far out of there sight. How do these girls know so much about acouple of shots like it was nothing. Right, bad parenting, another break down in social behavior. Probly see it at home.

I am sure they will get off on some technicality. This generation is the one that will be running our country in 20 years. Look out world. We are in a heap of trouble.

What if we handle this the old fashioned way? Let the girl's Daddys handle those boys!

These kids need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law! Its time kids understand consequences to their actions again!
