Man refuses to leave Swamp, wraps legs around pole
OKALOOSA ISLAND -- A 23-year-old Tennessee man was charged with resisting arrest March 9 after he refused to leave The Swamp.
After finally getting the man in handcuffs, security employees and an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy "escorted" him outside, where he wrapped his legs around the metal poles on the stairs at the entrance. They had to forcibly pull him off, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.
Swamp employees told the deputy the man was intoxicated and began cussing and yelling in an employee's face when asked to move.
Inside the patrol car, he intentionally banged his head on the cage but sustained no injury.
He has an April 6 court date.
