POLICE BLOTTER: Teen tries to steal three shirts, found with $60 cash
A teenager who tried to steal three T-shirts was arrested.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office was called to Beall’s Department Store after a store employee saw that the 15-year-old entered into the dressing room with three shirts, but came out without any, according to the Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
As the teenager walked passed, the employee noticed that he kept his hand in right pocket and had a visible bulge under his clothing.
When the deputy approached the teenager, he said he hadn’t taken anything, but the deputy wrote in the report that “upon conducting a pat down … I felt a bulge on the inside of his shorts that felt like a clothing item. I retrieved the item and discovered it was a green in color T-shirt."
At that point, the teenager attempted to run, but the deputy put him in a “rear headlock” and then arrested him.
In addition to the shirts, the deputy located $60 cash on the teen.
The teen was charged with larceny and resisting without violence.
