Girlfriend: He took my wallet and went to Club 10

OKALOOSA ISLAND — A man took his girlfriend's wallet from her purse and went to Club 10 with it, she told Okaloosa County sheriff's deputies.

She said it contained $250. The 38-year-old man was charged with theft and domestic battery after she said he also had hit her in the face in the Okaloosa Island Fire Department's parking lot.

A deputy came, saw her swollen left eye, and later spotted the man's vehicle at Club 10 with the wallet in plain view on his vehicle's bench seat. The girlfriend looked and said it was hers.

The man was found with $117 on him. He said his girlfriend had left the wallet in his vehicle and the money was "theirs."
