Deputies: Man throws woman into water
A 36-year-old man was arrested July 9 on charges of battery and drug possession.
Shane Michael Gause was fighting with the mother of his child on the dock behind Fisherman’s Wharf in Destin, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s report.
When the argument escalated, Gause grabbed the woman by her hair and threw her on a bench. When the woman attempted to push Gause away he slapped her.
He then grabbed her by the hair and threw her in the water saying, “You can (expletive) swim.”
Gause was searched after being placed under arrest and deputies found cocaine in his pocket.
He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 2.
'I'll take both of us out': Man arrested after threats
A 35-year-old man was arrested July 13 on charges of aggravated assault after threatening to kill his brother and his children, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's report.
Kevin John McGinnis was fighting with his brother in Destin when he grabbed two steak knives above his head and said, “I’ll take both of us out.”
McGinnis began walking up the stairs to where four children were sleeping and said, “You have two kids, I’ll take them from you. I have two kids, I’ll take them too.”
McGinnis threw the knives down the stairs while their argument continued.
He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 16.
