Dr. Warburton retires Jan. 1

Orthopaedic Associates announces the retirement of Dr. John Warburton, Jan. 1, 2014.  All patient records for Dr. Warburton will continue to be maintained by Orthopaedic Associates. 

Patients wishing to have a copy of their medical record and/or wishing to have their medical record transferred may do so by calling 850-863-2153. 

Local student makes honor roll

Destin’s Andrew Keil, Post Baccalaureate, Food Science and Technology, made the Scholastic Honor Roll Fall term with a straight A average at Oregon State University.

A total of   852 students earned straight-A (4.0).  Another 3,631 earned a B-plus (3.5) or better to make the listing. To be on the Honor Roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.

Members of Hilton’s food, beverage team elected to board

Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa officials recently announced that two members of the resort’s food and beverage team have been elected to the 2014 board of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association’s Northwest Florida Chapter.

Angelina Covington, director of food and beverage, has been appointed president, and Nichole Moen, food and beverage assistant and special events coordinator, has been elected as secretary. Both Covington and Moen will be installed to the board on Jan. 6, 2014.

Destin Award Program honors the achievement

La Place Interiors has been selected for the 2013 Best of Destin Award in the Furniture Stores category by the Destin Award Program. The Program focuses on quality, not quantity.
