Mrs. Claus is Destin’s Ultimate VIP

After a ruthless battle to be Destin’s Ultimate VIP, long time Destinite Cindy Posey took home the gold when she was informed on Thursday that she won The Log’s online contest for VIP cards to Destin hot spots.

“Oh my God, I did it!” Posey shouted when she learned over the phone that she had won.

And it’s no wonder after Posey spent almost each day of the contest entering her name and contact information a grand total of 545 times to win.
“I worked hard at it,” she said.

So when did she ever find the time to do that?

Everyday while catching her favorite soaps, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, Posey devoted the two hour window of time to entering on The Log’s site over and over again.

“I stayed on there continuously from the time it started, until the time it ended,” she said.

You might call all of the clicking and entering a labor of love.

“I wanted to be a VIP with my husband, so I can go to all these places that I don’t get to go to very often,” she said.

Posey is a familiar face in Destin, especially when she is in a big red dress sitting atop a big red fire truck most years as Mrs. Claus in Destin’s annual Christmas parade.

“I’m the only Mrs. Claus that’s been in the parade,” she said.

Posey will not be Mrs. Claus this year beside her husband Bill, who is always Mr. Claus. Instead, the couple will be co-grand marshals for this year’s Holly Jolly Christmas Parade in December.

“When they asked me to be a grand marshal, I asked if there was going to be another Mrs. Claus,” she said. “I wasn’t going to do it, if they were going to replace me. I love being Mrs. Claus!”

Posey is thrilled to add Destin’s Ultimate VIP to her résumé, as she loves this community that she has been a part of for over 30 years.

“I wouldn’t move anywhere else,” she said.
