Rev. Kim Cannon, minister of music at Destin United Methodist Church, has just released his fourth solo CD, “Out of Reach.”
“These are the songs that I love to sing and lead in worship,” Cannon told The Log. “Some are new, some are original, and all are singable. I particularly like my rendition of ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow’. I took the original lyrics and wrote a new melody.”
Another song, “Crazy Love,” was a collaboration with Lead Pastor Barry Carpenter.
“Sitting in a worship planning meeting we needed a song and he suggested I write one,” Cannon said. “I suggested he write the lyrics and I would come up with the tune. Five days later we had the song.”
