The 28th Annual Charity Auction begins with a silent auction from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 24 on The Big Deck at Harbor Docks Restaurant, 538 Harbor Blvd. Live auction follows, with auctioneer/host Ted Corcoran. A $15 donation will be accepted at the door and a buffet dinner and cash bar will be provided. Local musician Chris Alvarado will play during the silent auction and Destin favorite Cadillac Willy (pictured) will perform after the live auction. All proceeds benefit the 19th Annual Take a Kid Fishing Day Nov. 4. Call 837-2506.

Kite Festival

DESTIN - The fifth annual Flying High on the Harbor Kitty Hawk Festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 24 and 25 at HarborWalk Village. Enjoy professional kite flyers, SUP demos, and hands-on activities for children from 4-8 p.m. Weather permitting on all activities. The event is free. Call 837-2800.

Rock the Docks LIVE

DESTIN - Rock the Docks LIVE with a free public concert at 7 p.m. Saturdays at HarborWalk Village. Audience members can join house band Déjà Vu and sing with full lights and sound show.

Funky Blues Shack

DESTIN – Entertainment scheduled in August at Funky Blues Shack, 707 Harbor Blvd., includes Funky Saturdays with New Earth Army Aug. 17, Forrest Williams Aug. 24 and CatFish Alliance Aug. 31; Shooter Sundays with Slim Fatz; Captain Mondays with Robby Walton; and Tequila Tuesdays with Mellow Possum Band. Other performers include Whiskey Wednesdays with Continuum Aug. 28 and Flow Tribe Aug. 21; Ketel Thursdays with Open Mic Night on Aug. 22 and Heritage on Aug. 29; and Funky Fridays with Quickening Aug. 23.
