DESTIN — A man who was arrested for pushing his pregnant girlfriend came out of their shared hotel room with his hands up.
“If you are going to take me to jail, just take me,” he told Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies during the March 9 arrest.
The 23-year-old Tennessee man said the argument never got physical but he admitted to disconnecting the phone to keep her from leaving or calling for help.
“She is pregnant and I am insecure,” he told the deputy.
The victim said that she returned to her hotel room and found the suspect intoxicated.
They argued about a “lack of intimate relations,” at which point the suspect took her car key and her phone, the report said.
She tried to use the landline to call 911, but he disconnected it from the wall.
When she grabbed her cell phone back, he pushed her in the chest with his forearm, according to his arrest report.
He was charged with aggravated battery on a victim known to be pregnant and tampering with a witness.
