Children ages 6 to 12 years and their parents are invited to stop by the Destin Community Center at 3 p.m. April 21 and celebrate Earth Day 2017. Participate in a program aimed at increasing the awareness about our world in general and how using Okaloosa County's recycling program (reduce, reuse, recycle and renew) can positively affect the wildlife in our backyards and around the world. The program will include games, crafts and prizes.

Assisting in the program will be Nonie Maines of Nonie’s Ark Animal Encounters who will present “EDUtainment,” a one hour program using seven small, live, exotic animals that have been “recycled” themselves. Assisting Nonie will be her crew — a parrot, turtle, toad, tarantula, snake, mammal (such as ferret, sugar glider or chinchilla) and even a hissing cockroach to round out her presentation.

This program is free and open to the public. No preregistration is required. Call 837-8572.
