"Something ignited and sent a seat and passenger flying towards the console and cracked the deck!"

DESTIN — Four people were rescued Saturday from a sinking boat near East Pass by a good Samaritan and Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputies, according to the Coast Guard.

Coast Guard Station Destin and sheriff deputies were called out shortly before 10 a.m. regarding a vessel taking on water and four people who were in the water.

OCSO reported in a Facebook post that a small explosion on the boat caused the incident, noting "Something ignited and sent a seat and passenger flying towards the console and cracked the deck!"
