The Destin Area Chamber of Commerce relies on devoted trustee members to help build successful businesses and a vibrant local economy.

“Trustee members are businesses that invest at the highest level in human capital and money,” said Shane Moody, the chamber’s president. “They serve as advisers on the Board of Directors.”

The six trustee members include Destin Commons, Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau Inc., Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, Trustmark National Bank, Harrison Sale McCloy Attorney at Law and Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors.

“They are typically already members and want to get involved in a higher level,” Moody said. “For Destin and the chamber a size of 6 trustees is a pretty good number.”

Warren Averett’s partner, Kevin Bowyer, said as a large business in Destin, it’s important to assist the chamber.

“We have to be aware of what is going on in the city, county and state. The chamber provides that for us,” Bowyer said. “We have access to resources and information through them.”

Harrison Sale McCloy Attorney at Law recently joined the trustee group in April because they believe in the chamber’s mission.

“We fully support the chamber’s mission of advocating for business and strengthening the greater Destin area,” said Dion Moniz, the law firm’s Partner.

Moniz said the firm has become successful by working with a wide range of local and regional businesses in Northwest Florida.

“We decided to become a trustee member to show our level of commitment and faith in the Destin Chamber’s work and fulfillment of that mission.” he said.
