DESTIN – The Coast Guard rescued a man from a boat near Destin on Sunday afternoon.
At 12:48 p.m. Coast Guard Sector Mobile watchstanders received a notification of a 56-year-old man having difficulty breathing and going in and out of consciousness.
Two minutes later, the Coast Guard sent a 29-foot response boat and a 45-foot response boat.
The 45-footer arrived on scene 12:58 p.m., took the patient on board and transferred him to Station Destin, where local emergency services were waiting.
EMS transported the patient to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
