Tallahassee woman failed to maintain a single lane in crash that occurred at 3 a.m. on State Road 20 in Calhoun County.

A Tallahassee woman is in critical condition following a head-on crash with a tractor trailer operated by a driver from Destin.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, 32-year-old Kristina Jenkins was traveling west on State Road 20 near the Trammel Bridge in Calhoun County at the time of the 3 a.m. crash Thursday.

FHP noted that Jenkins failed to maintain a single lane in her 2017 Hyundai Elantra, crossing the center line and into the direct path of a 2007 Freightliner semi driven by Michael Youtt, 39, of Destin.

After the collision, the Hyundai rotated violently counter-clockwise and came to a final rest on the roadway's south grass shoulder. The semi left the roadway and ended up in a grass ditch off the north side of SR 20.

Jenkins was taken to Bay Medical Sacred Heart in Panama City where she remains listed in critical condition.

The release stated alcohol was not involved in the crash and charges are pending.
