The Destin Library will showcase the work of local artist Kim Heartsong Sept. 5-30. Meet the artist from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 and 26 during open houses with light refreshments.

Heartsong served 20 years in the United States Air Force with an assignment at Eglin Air Force Base from 1991-1995 (9th Special Operations Squadron), which included five deployments to the Middle East for Desert Storm, Liberation of Kuwait and Operation Provide Comfort I & II. She retired at the rank of lieutenant colonel in 2007.

Heartsong’s exhibit, “Phases of Life,” features a collection of abstract realism paintings bursting with emotion, vibrant color and bold body postures. Heartsong attended the Baum School of Art in Allentown, Pennsylvania, from 2013–2015.
