A witness reported Timothy Brice Hebert hit a guardrail near Hurlburt Field during reckless driving episode on U.S. 98.

MARY ESTHER — A half-dozen citizens alarmed by a reckless driver on U.S. Highway 98 Saturday afternoon wasted no time calling to report the dangerous motorist to law enforcement, according to a press release from Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

A witness says the driver even hit a guardrail near Hurlburt Field.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy was able to spot the silver Dodge Ram and make a traffic stop around 5 p.m. in Mary Esther.

A search revealed 29-year old Timothy Brice Hebert of Destin was in possession of Xanax and a syringe.

Hebert is charged with DUI and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
