A replica of the United States Constitution will be on display to celebrate the 230th anniversary of its ratification at the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida, 115 Westview Ave. in Valparaiso during September. The display, open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, will highlight some of the many stories of Revolutionary War patriots who are ancestors of Okaloosa County citizens.

Sept. 17-23 is Constitution Week and begins on "Citizens Day," the actual day the document was signed in 1787. The display is sponsored by the Choctawhatchee Bay Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and gives voice to some of the stories of Patriots who fought for the freedoms we now enjoy.

West Florida Chapter members are contributing Pocket Constitutions to Destin Middle School and Emerald Coast Middle School civics students and the Pledge of Allegiance bookmarks to the fifth grade students at both schools.
