As the Destin Fishing Rodeo kicked off Sunday, kids paraded around HarborWalk Village in their creative floats as part of the Kid's Wagon Boat Parade.

A handful of tiny sailors registered for the free event. Before it began, kids were lined up in front of AJ's to have their faces painted.

The Amped Elite All-Stars and the Fort Walton Beach High School Viking Band were among some of the groups who marched in the parade.

The Kid's Wagon Boat Parade is an annual tradition that kicks off the start of the Destin Fishing Rodeo.

Kids decorate their wagons as small sailing vessels or pirate ships. Some threw out candy and AJ's frisbees. Sally the Swordfish and a stilt walker were also part of the fun.
