Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) recently received a $16,500 donation from St. Joe Community Foundation Inc. to be used in support of ECTC’s Theatre for Young Audiences program.
The gift qualifies St. Joe Foundation as a title sponsor of ECTC’s 2017-2018 season and an executive producer of the ECTC Theatre for Young Audiences program.
ECTC’s Professional Theatre for Young Audiences program showcases professional actors performing productions especially selected for young audience members.
“Nonprofits in major cities have the benefit of having access to major corporate sponsorships,” said ECTC Producing Artistic Director Nathanael Fisher. “We don't have that benefit here. The St. Joe Community Foundation's partnership is ensuring that ECTC can serve our children the way we need to in our coastal community. This support from the St. Joe Community Foundation is vital to the growth and impact of ECTC mission to serve our children.”
This is the third year the St. Joe Community Foundation has supported Emerald Coast Theatre Company. Year one, they sponsored the production of "A Dickens Christmas.” Last year, they provided a grant that helped ECTC purchase curtains for the 560 Grand Boulevard performance space. This year, their funds will help support ECTC’s TYA program, which will present three productions — “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley,” “A Mark Twain Storybook” and “Aesop's Fables.”
“The joy and excitement that ECTC brings through its theatrical programming for both young and old in our community is a welcome addition to the cultural arts arena in Walton County,” said St. Joe Community Foundation Executive Director Janet Greeno. “The St. Joe Community Foundation is proud to sponsor the young audience programs for the 2017-2018 school year and looks forward to ECTC’s continued success in Northwest Florida.”
