Independent Film Series
The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a movie, the ad-venture/comedy/drama "The Grand Budapest Hotel," at 2 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Destin Library. The program, free and open to the public, is directed toward a mature audience.
The adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous hotel from the fictional Republic of Zubrowka between the first and sec-ond World Wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.
The ninth annual 30A Songwriters Festival takes place Jan. 12-15 along scenic Highway 30A. Main stage performances by Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, The Zombies, North Mississippi Allstars and Lee Ann Womack will be held in Grand Boulevard’s Town Center. Event will feature 175 song-writers and more than 225 performances at more than 25 venues in south Walton County. The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in Grand Park in Miramar Beach between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama’s. Vendors will offer locally sourced food-based items including produce, eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, honey, pickled vegetables and gourmet jams.
