The couple had returned from a weeklong cruise when the attack, which included a threat of death, occurred.

A 49-year-old Destin man faces felony charges of kidnapping and sexual battery for allegedly battering a female with whom he is in a relationship.

David Hamilton Brown was charged with kidnapping, battery and sexual battery for the Jan. 11 incident.

The woman told Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputies that the two had recently returned from a weeklong cruise. She said they were lying in bed together when he became angered by her placing her hand affectionately on his stomach.

He called her numerous profane and degrading names, and when she started to cry, he said, "Don't give me those tears. I will make you cry. I want you dead," according to his OCSO arrest report.

He then twisted and bit her arm, hit her in the face, bit her breast and kicked her off the bed, the report said.

He then placed a hand over her mouth before forcing a pillow over her face and trying to suffocate her. He then forcibly pushed her back and forth, while telling her he was trying to break her neck.

The abuse continued until at one point she was airborne and struck her head.

When Brown fell asleep, she tried to leave but he heard her and told her she wasn't leaving and that she was a "piece of (expletive)" and he wanted her to die, the report said.

He ordered her back into bed and had sex with her against her wishes.

She told deputies that she was scared for her life and believed he was trying to kill her.

She escaped the next morning and called for help.

Brown refused to answer the door or his phone when deputies tried to reach him. The woman had visible injuries including whiplash, a sprained wrist and numerous bruises, bite marks and scrapes.

He was arrested Jan. 12. Brown posted a combined $30,000 bond on the charges and was released from Okaloosa County Jail on Jan. 14.
