DESTIN — The children and staff at Children In Crisis received some Christmas spirit when 654Limo and Emerald Coast Parent Magazine worked together in December for their annual Wish Upon A Car event to treat the kids to a once-in-a-lifetime vacation.

The kids were treated to an experience "that will be remembered forever," Nathan Wilson, spokesman for 654Limo, said in a press release.

The kids went on a three-day, two-night vacation to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in Orlando that included transportation, lodging, meals and tickets.

"The reason for this program is to change the narrative for these children during the holiday season," Wilson said. "They are all without their immediate family members due to no fault of their own, and it can be such an emotionally challenging time to see those around them celebrating and creating family memories while they are unable to is beyond heartbreaking."

Busineses that contributed to the trip were Silver Sands Premium Outlets, Extreme Marketing, Fudpucker's, the Greater Fort Walton Chamber of Commerce, Jay Odom Group, Thai Delights, Your Friend at the Beach and Davis Dunn Construction Inc. Also, Sam's Club, Aqua Pool & Patio Co., W. Development & Capital, Donut Hole, Emerald Coast Inn & Suites, Saltwater Restaurants, Wells Fargo, Newman Dailey Resort Properties Inc. and Regional Self Storage. In addition, Dr. Raim Eye Care, Emerald Grande and Harborwalk Village; L & V Investments LLC, The Gulf Coast Property Group LLC, Maverick Building Contractors LLC, and Chick-fil-A of Fort Walton Beach.
