The Destin Garden Club will welcome Dave Gordon when they meet at 9:30 a.m. March 13 at the Destin Library at 150 Sibert Ave.

Wharton will lecture on native azaleas. He is a master gardener, a master naturalist, a native of Northwest Florida for five generations and a former science teacher in Okaloosa County for 37 years. This year, he serves as president of the Okaloosa County Master Gardeners. This is a lecture you should not miss as you will be amazed at the variety of gorgeous blooms these native plants have to offer.

The Destin Garden Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at the library. Meetings are always free and open to the public so please plan on joining the group for this informative talk. The object of the club is to stimulate the love of gardening among members; to promote gardening through community projects; to aid in the protection of birds, trees, shrubs and flowers; to encourage city beautification and to share with members and others the fruit of our studies. The Destin Garden Club also helps to maintain the beautiful grounds of the Destin Library and works the third Tuesday of each month on the landscape. Membership is available for those who wish to join for $35 a year.
