United For A Good Cause Inc., a local 501(c) (3) charitable organization, has scheduled a conference for area youth designed to cultivate leadership skills and empower attendees with tools, resources, and inspiration to live and model civic action in the community while helping them discover their purpose and potential.

The YOUth LEADership Conference , a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC), invites area students in grades seven through 12 in public, private, parochial and/or home-schooled, regardless of race, ethnicity, or creed, to participate. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21 at the BGCEC’s Youth Center, 923 Denton Blvd. in Fort Walton Beach. The conference fee will be $10 and will include a light lunch and conference materials. Scholarships will be available to cover the conference fee for students from low-income families.

Keynote speakers will be Jeremiah and Joshua West, 12 and 10 years old respectively. The West brothers are entrepreneurs, published authors, and speakers who have inspired children from around the world to be “change agents” in their own communities. The conference will have an energetic and exciting cadre of local and national speakers, including leadership experts, entrepreneurs, and STEM related presentations and activities.

A light lunch, soft drinks, and water will be provided and a door prize giveaway will take place.
