More than 30 local property managers gathered recently at The Hub for a Happy Hour mixer to network and discuss changes affecting their businesses with large rental sites like VRBO and Airbnb. Locally owned and operated, Rent 30A is looking to not only build the best local vacation rental site hosting more than 1,500 properties from more than 20 local management companies and individual homeowners, but to also build a community and support local business owners and commerce.
On the heels of the recent Visit South Walton meeting regarding the changes to the rental business, John Wellborn, owner of Rent30A.com, wanted to gather local stakeholders and offer a better option. As locals of the 30A community, the Rent 30A team has a unique advantage compared to global travel sites. This not only serves as a benefit to customers searching the site, but brings local businesses together in a big way.
“I love the idea of Rent30A.com being a co-op for all local 30A management companies to build a massive listing site together,” said Jim Dixon, CEO of 30A Escapes Vacation Rentals. “We have enjoyed getting to know other management company owners and their team members in the process. All the management companies involved with Rent30A.com share a common goal which is to bring more guests to the properties they manage.”
“Since placing our vacation rentals on Rent30A.com we have seen terrific results with additional guest inquiries. The bookings we have made from Rent 30A leads have definitely covered our cost to list and then some,” Dixon added.
When guests use Rent 30A, they are booking directly with the owner or property manager of the vacation home.
