Destin Charity Wine Auction — which was ranked last year as the third highest grossing wine auction in the nation by Wine Spectator magazine — returns to the Emerald Coast April 27-28.

Sponsored by the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF), the 13th annual event will feature more than 300 silent and live offerings. The auction will welcome hundreds of people who can secure rare and highly sought-after wines, wine-oriented excursions and other exclusive opportunities. In 2018, DCWAF will offer 50 live auction lots that include trips to South Africa, Australia, Italy, Napa Valley, Argentina, Amsterdam and more. The auction will also feature a rare 2008 Tesla Roadster donated by the St. Joe Community Foundation.

The weekend kicks off Friday, April 27, with 12 intimate patron dinners offering exclusive wines. The marquee event, the 13th annual auction, will be Saturday at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin. The 2018 Honorary Vintner is Betz Family Winery, and owner Steve Griessel will attend. In addition, DCWAF has named Cindy Hutson as its inaugural Honorary Chef who will provide food pairings.

The auction will offer a powerhouse lineup of wines, including Screaming Eagle, Harlan Estate, Scarecrow and several highly allocated cult wines and well-respected brands from around the globe.

For those who want to keep the party going, the South Walton Beaches Wine and Food Festival, also sponsored by DCWAF, is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 29.

DCWAF has earned a spot in Wine Spectator's top 10 for the past six years. Since its inception, the DCWAF has donated more than $15 million to support children in Northwest Florida. DCWAF donated $2.7 million to 15 local charities in 2017.

Destin Charity Wine Auction finished third in Wine Spectator's list behind top-grossing Naples Winter Wine Festival and runner-up Auction Napa Valley.

"We are beyond grateful for the support we have received from our local community and our friends in the wine industry," Destin Charity Wine Auction President John Russell said. "When we can tell their stories to people, they raise their paddles."
