The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is conducting two separate and unrelated death investigations after two bodies were found Monday and Tuesday.

According to a pair of press releases from the sheriff’s office, the first body was found Monday evening at around 7 p.m. by a man walking his dog near the beach off Tecumseh Lane in Mary Esther. The man called police after noticing a woman lying on a beach towel who did not appear to be breathing.

The woman was later identified as 40-year-old Jamie Graham. She lived nearby in Mary Esther, and her car was found in the Tecumseh Lane cul-de-sac.

Mid-day Tuesday, authorities were called to a wooded area off U.S. Highway 98 in Destin, near the Chick-fil-A, after receiving a call that a homeless man believed to be in his forties had been found dead.

His identity has not yet been released, pending next-of-kin notification.

There were no obvious signs of foul play in either death, the sheriff’s office said.

Autopsies are scheduled in both cases to determine causes of death.
