Rows of classic cars filled the parking lot at Destin Commons on Saturday morning as the Burning Up the Beaches car show charity event kicked off.

The event, which benefited The Arc of the Emerald Coast, brought antique car owners and aficionados together to show off their restored classics, trade stories, and win one of four possible awards.

Butch Patrick of “The Munsters” TV show fame attended the car show with two of the show’s most famous hot rods, “Dragula,” and “Munster Koach.”

“The Munsters” aired from 1964-1966 with Butch Patrick playing the role of little Eddie Munster.

“I’m going to be 65 years old and I’ve always wanted to be a race car driver, so I love doing these events,” said Patrick.

It was a hot day, but people came out in droves to check out the classic rides and reminisce. The car lineup included a red 1967 Corvette, a Pepto-Bismol pink 1950 Mercury, and a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air.
