DESTIN – A personal watercraft operator who sped past a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer conducting safety inspections at Crab Island was charged with boating under the influence.

The officer stopped the personal watercraft and found that the operator showed multiple signs of impairment, according to FWC’s weekly incident report.

The man failed field sobriety tests.

He was charged with violating an idle speed zone, improperly displaying vessel registration numbers, BUI – refusing a blood alcohol test and BUI.
