DESTIN — Complaints from hotel guests led to the arrest of a Miami man with large amounts of drugs.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to complaints about lots of activity at the Village Inn at 215 Harbor Blvd. on Saturday where they found found drugs in a bucket and a sock full of cash in the room, according to an arrest report from OCSO.

Robert Cooper, 56, of Miami is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and trafficking.

Cooper consented to a search which turned up bags of narcotics stashed in a bucket by a sink and a sock with $7,685 under a TV stand. While detained, a sandwich bag containing multiple triangular shaped pills with the imprint "p/d" fell out of his shorts, the arrest report said.

Cooper told deputies he won the cash gambling at a casino, but couldn’t recall the exact location or its name.
