Michael A. Smith, the author of "Jaws 2: The Making of the Hollywood Sequel," was at the Destin History and Fishing Museum Saturday afternoon for a signing event featuring the new expanded version of his original book.
He was joined by Bobbie Chasarik, who's father Charles was a diver and welder on the movie set; Joel "Shark Diver" Salsbury, who hosts an annual “Jaws 2” Labor Day party; and Okaloosa County Tax Collector Ben Anderson, better known for his speaking role as the diver "Sparky" in the movie that filmed in Destin and Navarre. The book features additional updates on the cast, with new interviews and photos.
The book signing took place on the 40th anniversary of release of "Jaws 2," which was Hollywood's first big budget summer blockbuster sequel. The film remains one of the largest to ever film in Northwest Florida.
