You will find him upstairs in Baytowne Provisions. He’s the unassuming guy behind the bar who is ready to talk cocktails and anything else on your mind – meet Damon Williams.

Williams has spent most of his young life perfecting his bartending skills. At 25 years old, he is already pulling ahead as a stand-out bartender in the South Walton area.

“I did the cocktails list here, about eight of the 10 drinks on the menu are mine,” he said. “We had a tasting inside the company to see which ones we liked best, and these are the ones we chose.”

On the current menu are cocktails like “The Get Smashed,” a basil and bourbon concoction; “The Blueberry Vojito,” a blueberry interpretation of the classic mojito; and “The Rosemary Fizz,” which Williams said is by far his most requested cocktail.

“These are the three that stand by themselves,” Williams said of the cocktails, “But the Rosemary Fizz is the most creative of the three.”

The Rosemary Fizz features fresh strawberries, rosemary springs, lemon juice, simple syrup, an egg white, and the triple threat of Titos Vodka, St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur and Prosecco.

“I’m a big bourbon drinker, but you can’t really drink a glass of bourbon in 95-degree weather, so I make more summery drinks,” Williams said when asked about the popularity of The Rosemary Fizz. “I worked in Colorado for a season at a place that made Prohibition-type drinks and that’s what I brought back to the area.”

As for his free time, Williams said he can be found in two places – the beach or the mountains.

“I love going to the beach and I love paddle boarding, but I really love snowboarding in the winter,” he said. “It’s nice to get away from the heat. I try to go to Colorado as much as I can. If I could snowboard all winter, that would be amazing!”
