DMS Readiness Day

Big Truck Day

Summer Food Service Program

Trunk Show

Today’s Boutique, 4433 Commons Drive E #E103, will host a trunk show from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 3 and 4 featuring clothing line Planet by Lauren G. Planet. The collection of women’s apparel is designed to be size-less, season-less and ageless. Light refreshments will be provided.

Tax-free Shopping

The annual Florida Sales Tax-free Holiday will be Aug. 3 through 5, with tax-free shopping on purchases such as clothing, footwear and certain accessories under $60 per item, as well as certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item.

School Supplies Drive

Be on the lookout for donation boxes through Aug. 7 at the Destin Library and also at City Hall, 4200 Indian Bayou Trail, for the 2018 School Supplies Drive. ACT/SAT Workshops

A workshop to assist students in Okaloosa County High Schools who will take the Aug. 25 or Oct. 6 SAT and Sept. 8 ACT will be held from 2:15-4:15 p.m. Aug. 20-22 and 27-29 in the Media Center at Fort Walton Beach High School. All materials, snacks and drinks are furnished. Students need to bring calculators. Registration deadline is Aug. 7. PreventT2 Diabetes Program

Participants meet once a week for the first 16 weeks then once or twice a month for the next eight months to encourage and maintain healthy lifestyle changes. DMS Orientation

Orientation begins at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 for sixth, seventh and eighth graders in the gym at Destin Middle School. Schedules will be given out in AA/HR. Supply lists, uniform shirts and class syllabi will be available. At 1 p.m. fifth graders will rotate through the bell schedule to each class period.

Fresh Foodies Class

Fresh Foodies, with Chef Carrie Knife, meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Destin School of the Arts, Building A, 200 Beach Drive. Aug. 14. Tai Chi Class

Code Club

The Destin Library’s Code Club for children in fifth through eighth grades will be divided into two sections, web design and game design.
