1. HarborFest

Celebrate the arts, dining, history and community spirit that makes Destin special as you visit dozens of exhibits and vendors from 5-9 p.m. Sept. 22 at the first HarborFest celebration at HarborWalk. Taste local and regional craft brews, see artists’ hand-crafted items and enjoy the Destin History and Fishing Museum along with charter captains from HarborWalk Charters as they share fish tales and fishing heritage alongside freshly prepared seafood dishes from local chefs. Craft stations provided by Abrakadoodle for the kids will be available. Local favorite Flash Flood will perform on the main stage, and fireworks end the evening at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15/person and include beer sampling, a mini beer stein, live music and kids crafts. 2. Fall Kite Festival

The Kitty Hawk Kites' Fly Into Fall Kite Festival will be held from10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 22 and 23 at the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. Enjoy show kites, professional stunt kite flying demonstrations, free lessons and special activities. Call 796-0102 for more info.

3. Oktoberfest at Big Kahunas

Grilled bratwurst and German potato salad, local beers, and the chicken dance must mean its time for Oktoberfest. Celebrate the first ever Big Kahuna’s Water and Adventure Park event the weekends of Sept. 22-23 and 29-30 in Destin.
