Museum Celebrates 13th Anniversary

The Destin History and Fishing Museum is marking their 13th Anniversary with free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 at 108 Stahlman Ave. Visit and discover the history that shaped Destin from the small fishing village of the past to the world-class fishing and resort destination. NICU Reunion

The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart invites former patients and families of its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to the annual NICU reunion from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in the Greenhut Auditorium at Sacred Heart Hospital, 5151 N. Ninth Ave. in Pensacola. Guests are advised to use the Ninth Avenue parking garage. Friends of Destin Library

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a free presentation, “Re-introducing Your Library,” at 2 p.m. Oct. 9 at the library. The public is invited to join others for an afternoon of learning about how libraries are evolving. Megan Fontaine, a staff member, will explain how to check out and read e-books. Those attending are encouraged to bring their Kindle or other reading device so they can try it out. A workshop to assist students in Okaloosa County High Schools who will take the Nov. 3 SAT will be held from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 22-23 and 27-29 in the Media Center at Fort Walton Beach High School or from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25 and 31 and Nov. 1 at Niceville High School. The Emerald Coast Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament will be held Oct. 27 at Emerald Bay Golf Club in Destin. Pink Walk Fundraiser

Fore Her will hold a fundraiser, The Pink Walk, from 12-3 p.m. Nov. 4 at Destin Commons for its mission of assisting local breast cancer patients. The half-mile walk and after party will feature a DJ and photo booth, sweet treats, activities for children, an aerobics class and inspirational words from local news channel WJHG’s Jessica Foster. Tai Chi Class

The Destin Library will offer one-hour Tai Chi classes with Barbara Rezmer, a certified Tai Chi for Health instructor, on Monday mornings at 9 a.m. The cost is $5/session. Holiday Craft Show

The City of Destin’s 12th Annual Holiday Craft Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 16 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Destin Community Center. There will be hand-crafted jewelry, woodcarvings, watercolor paintings, and much more from more than 50 vendors. Holiday Baking

Christmas Tree Lighting

The 32nd annual Christmas Tree Lighting, hosted by the City of Destin, will be held at the Destin Community Center at 6 p.m. Nov. 29. This will be an outdoor event for the entire family with a visit from Santa Claus, entertainment from local choruses, musical groups, etc. with refreshments served after the lighting of the tree. Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market
