LETTER: We need a beach for our pets

As a German couple with a second home here in Bluewater Bay and visiting Bluewater Bay since 1976, we love the Emerald Coast and Destin and Fort Walton Beach very much. And our dog would love the wonderful, sugar-white beaches — but she is not allowed to walk on the beach.
PLEASE open a stretch of a mile for pets. You have plenty of miles of beach, some of them totally uncrowded. Look to Walton County to see how it can work.
But make sure every dog walker cleans up after his or her pet.
