Funeral arrangements set for Destin blast victim
Michael R. Blanchard of Destin, Fla., passed away Dec. 10, 2009, from injuries he received in a gas explosion at his home.
He was born Dec. 4, 1959, in Westminster, Calif., to Faye E. White and West Blanchard and was raised in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Michael was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He loved playing golf and watching Auburn football and spending time with his family.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, David Van Fossen; brother, Chuck Blanchard; and sister, Teri Edwards.
He will be greatly missed by his fiancée, Faye Boroughs; sons, Michael C. Blanchard and William D. Blanchard; stepdaughter, Jessica Dahlberg; sisters, Robin S. Lantz, Maria C. “Mimi” Ramirez, Wendy Brown and her husband, Kelly her husband, Willie Ray; brother, Jeremy Winbery and his wife, Susan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful doctors and nurses who work at the USA Medical Center Burn Unit.
Their care and dedication are deeply appreciated.
A time of visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 14 at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, 2201 N. Partin Drive, Niceville, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 15 at Destin United Methodist Church.
