POLICE BLOTTER: Destin man pushes woman off bicycle, breaks Bud Light Lime bottle over her head
A 32-year-old Destin man was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after he allegedly broke a beer bottle over a woman’s head.
About 9:30 p.m. Aug. 21, Trevor Neil Woods got into an argument with the woman, who was riding her bicycle in the middle of Airport Road, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Woods pushed her off the bike then struck her in the head with a glass Bud Light Lime bottle, breaking the bottle.
Woods also stole the woman’s cell phone, valued at $50, out of her front pants pocket and fled, the report said. Witnesses corroborated the woman’s account.
When a deputy asked Woods if he wanted to talk about the incident, the man replied, “(Expletive) you.”
Woods was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and theft. He is due in court Oct. 5.
