CRESTVIEW - The Florida Highway Patrol released the names of three people involved in a two-car collision Friday afternoon on State Road 85, south of Crestview High School.

Autumn Hendry, 20, and Laura Ott, 22, were transported by helicopter Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola in serious condition, according to an FHP report. Both have been discharged.

The accident happened about 3:10 p.m. at the intersection of Hammock Road.

Witnesses on scene said Justin D. Polk, 22, the driver of a 1995 Honda, was northbound on S.R. 85 when Ott, the driver of a 1995 Buick, pulled out from Hammock Road into his path.

The Florida Highway Patrol cited Ott for her failure to observe a stop sign, according to the report.

Polk was the only uninjured person in the wreck.

“The Buick came across the road really fast,” Baker resident Connie Givens said, adding that the Buick began to roll after it was struck. “It rolled at least two times, maybe three,” Givens said.

The Buick’s passenger side door was caved in and there was damage to the front of the Honda. The Buick came to rest upside down adjacent to Industrial Drive, which runs parallel to S.R. 85.

Crestview resident Ronald Money said he saw the Buick as it was hit.

“It just started rolling,” Money said.
