Man charged with theft for hiding DVD player in pants
DESTIN -- A 62-year-old Santa Rosa Beach man has been charged with felony theft for taking five portable DVD players from Target over a 10-day time period in September.
Johnnie Allen Warren was arrested Feb. 5.
According to his Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report, he went into Target on Sept. 18 and left with a DVD player hidden in his pants.
The next day he went back and took another DVD player, this time using a Target bag to conceal it.
On Sept. 28, he returned to the same store and took three more DVD players, hiding them in Target bags.
His actions were captured on video surveillance tape.
A review of his criminal history showed Warren has two prior theft convictions.
