Five women duke it out over elevator at Emerald Grande; one gets a fat lip

DESTIN - A Tallahassee woman was charged with battery after she popped another woman in the mouth after fighting over an elevator at the Emerald Grande.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff's office arrest report did not indicate what the argument was about, but the woman told lawmen she and her sister were in the elevator when her sister began "running her mouth" with three women standing outside the elevator.

An argument ensued, and the defendant said she swung at the other woman because she felt threatened by three against two.

She will go to court June 16.

If you build a horrendously tasteless dump, the appropriate cliental will follow. For example, If I parked a 1979 Elderado Cadillac with leopard skin seats and rims and curb feelers out side of a club, who do you suppose would be attracted to it. It’s the same with the Emerald Grande - a tacky dirt whole that attracts only the low class, while soiling the beautiful Destin Gateway. It’s really outrages that something so hideous was allowed to soil something so beautiful.

I was here 30 years ago too. And it WAS much nicer than it is now. That is, unless you like to live in a place that is like the Jerry Springer show. Also, if anyone needs relocation advice this is not the place they would look for it!

And some call this "progress"! Of course many would like to go back to the old Destin. It was beautiful, safe, and attracted a MUCH classier group of tourists!

You asked for it you got it! Destin is now ranked number 1 in the Redneck Rivera category. Just send all these rambunctious tourists to our private beach that we have paid the taxes on all year every year. Destin, you need to put a moratorium on any new development now.

Yep GGW, we turned Destin into a tourist trap and now we're stuck with them. I say lets tear down all those darn high rises and go back to the peaceful little town we had way back when.

Is Joe Francis out of jail and in town for the holiday weekend to shoot some Girls Gone Wild videoes at Crab Island. Looks like the craziness spilled over to Emerald Grande. Can't wait to see the video. God love the silly tourists.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Should the city continue to fund emergency beach restoration projects on Holiday Isle?
Yes, Holiday Isle is a tourism engine that benefits all of Destin with bed taxes
Yes, they are our neighbors and they need help
No, the beach keeps eroding, and we are flushing our money away
No, it is their private property and they should pay for more sand
Who cares?
