Destin woman, Milton man injured in motorcycle wreck

A Destin woman and Milton man were both seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon.

John Mayle, 51, was driving behind another motorcycle and a car on Perdido Key Drive in Escambia county when the car stopped to make a right turn into a parking lot, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The first motorcycle was able to swerve onto the south shoulder of the road to avoid collision, but Mayle lost control of his 2006 Harley.

The motorcycle spun counterclockwise and then clockwise, overturning on its left side and ejecting Mayle and his passenger, 57-year-old Cynthia Easton.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet. Both suffered head injuries from impact with the pavement.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the release.
