Information sought in Destin church burglaries

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for information about two church burglaries that occurred in Destin sometime during the overnight hours of January 7 and 8. Deputies responded to the First Presbyterian Church located on Calhoun Avenue on January 8 and discovered that someone had entered the church by forcing their way into the main door and took several items.

That same day, deputies were also called to Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church located on Airport Road and discovered that the church had also been burglarized and several instruments and other electrical equipment were stolen.

Anybody with information about these burglaries may possibly become eligible for a cash reward of UP TO $1,000 by contacting Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 863-TIPS (863-8477), or toll-free at 1-888-654-TIPS. Information can also be provided anonymously by texting “TIP214 plus the message” to CRIMES (274637).Anonymous tips can also be submitted on-line at www.emeraldcoastcrimestoppers.com.
