UPDATED: Pedestrian identified after fatal wreck near Marler Bridge
DESTIN —The woman who was killed Sunday night after she was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross U.S. Highway 98 has been identified.
Beth Ann Badalamenti, 25, of Fort Walton Beach, was pronounced dead at Sacred Heart Hospital early Monday morning after being hit by a 2012 Chevrolet four-door driven by Sean B. Wassner of Destin.
Wassner, 26, called dispatch at 10:18 p.m. reporting that he “ran over someone,” according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s call records. He was described as “hysterical” saying the woman walked into the road.
